Food PAntry Garden

ATTENTION ALL GARDENERS!

To all gardeners current and future volunteers, your time is needed for this year’s garden. Looking for volunteers. No experience needed. For help at the garden some time during the week of this growing season. Some of the things that need to be done on a weekly basis is weeding, fertilizing, spraying for pests (insects and squirrels) plus overall maintenance.

The existing vegetable beds are in the process of being replaced before the planting season begins in a couple of months. See the planting diagram and planting schedule below to visualize our plan. We will be needing the following plants: tomato, cucumbers, zucchini, summer squash, eggplants, peppers, carrots, beets, radish, onions and lettuce. We will also need marigolds as they help keep some bugs away.

If you are interested in helping out at the garden, please contact the parish office at
908-889-2100 or send an email request to
office@ihmparish.net

We hope to see you soon!

Adopt a Garden: IHM Campus Beautification Project

Last summer and fall you may have noticed the flowers and small plants that added life to the parking lot. During 2023 a handful of parishioners independently took it upon themselves to clean and refresh many of the garden areas around the Church parking lot.

This year we want to launch an 'Adopt a Garden' program, to beautify all the garden areas throughout the campus. This a great opportunity for everyone, families or individuals. Each of our 35+ gardens is wishing for volunteers! There is no set schedule, you help when you can, and the only expectation is that you'll commit to clean up and planting in the spring, maintenance (weeding and water) through the summer, and a clean up in the fall.

Spring is almost here, so let's join to make our campus colorful! To select a garden or for more info please e-mail Mary Kate at mkschiller46@gmail.com
