IHM Food Pantry Serves Local Communities

Due to the severity of the pandemic and unexpected hardships, many families in the local communities are faced with unusual circumstances of food insecurities. We as a parish community have been serving the local communities to feed their spiritual and physical hunger. Now more than ever, it is asked of us to continue to contribute to support the local community so no family goes hungry. The IHM Food Pantry plays a critical part in helping an increasing number of families in our local communities put food on the table. The line during the distribution days starts over an hour before the food bank opens. Thank you to everyone in the community who has donated food, money & time to the IHM Food Pantry.

Food Pantry HourS of Operation:

+ Every Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM
+ Every 2nd Sunday from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM

We are located at 1571 South Martine Avenue. Scotch Plains, New Jersey 07076.
The Food Pantry is located at the rear entrance of the church.

How can I help?

Drop-off:

There is a wooden crate at the back of the Church where non-perishables can be dropped off between 8AM and 6PM - 7 days a week. Please bring your donations to the back of the church. Place the items in the wooden crate near the backdoors. Don’t worry about leaving the food there. One of our team members will sort out the donations. You may also drop donations off at the Nazareth Center. If you have any questions, please call the parish office at 908-889-2100 or email office@ihmparish.net.

VOLUNTEER:

We always appreciate volunteers who help us prepare and distribute food for our friends in need. You can help by gathering food items from your home. From friends, neighbors or co-workers and bringing the food to our donation crate behind the church. We're open on Wednesdays from 10:00 - 11:45AM. Also, we are open every second Sunday of the month. Come early around 9:30AM so we can prepare the food. Community service credits are available upon request. But it just feels right offering a helping hand for people who really need it. Monetary commitments are welcome to ensure the pantry is constantly funded. 100% of the proceeds are used to purchase fresh food, produce and gift cards from local markets.
