Prayers for Glenn Stuart

March 7, 2024

Glenn P. Stuart, 63, passed away on Wednesday February 28, 2024, after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. His loving family was at his side. Glenn was born May 18, 1960 in Staten Island and moved to Marlboro, NJ in his early teens. He married the love of his life Grace in September 1997 and they moved to Brick, NJ. They settled in Fanwood, NJ in 2005 to raise their children Annie and Sean.

From a young age Glenn knew he wanted to entertain people. As a young boy, he started playing drums on his brother John’s drum set in their home. He then began playing in various bands from high school on until he joined the Bstreetband, the longest running Springsteen tribute band, in 1990 as their frontman.

No one could entertain like Glenn with his infectious smile, his incredible voice and his quick wit. He was humble and approachable. It was so important to him to put on the best show possible and honor Bruce Springsteen at every performance. He wanted to make people happy, and that he did.

In 2020, Glenn achieved his dream of releasing his own music through his album “American Dreamscapes.” He created this body of work while battling lung cancer for the first time during COVID-19. In 2022 Glenn released one of his last songs, “Highways and Rivers,” which captured his own Springsteen story and what Springsteen’s music and persona meant to him.

Glenn was a loving and caring husband, father and friend. He was a talented song writer, a wonderful cook and an avid NY Mets fan. He loved listening to music. He was a big fan of Bruce Springsteen and Peter Gabriel. He was passionate about politics. He loved scuba diving. He adored his dogs, Mocha and Gigi. But mostly he loved being with his family.

Glenn is predeceased by his parents James and Hazel and brothers Jimmy and Gary Stuart. He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years Grace M. (nee Arnow-Perfilio), loving children Annie and Sean, caring siblings John, Kathleen and Christine Stuart, his loving in-laws, Betty and Tony Perfilio, and brothers-in-law Evan Arnow-Perfilio and wife Kirsten, and Tony Perfilio and wife Alexandra. Glenn is also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday March 6, 2024 from 4pm to 8pm at the Rossi Funeral Home, 1937 Westfield Avenue Scotch Plains, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday March 7, 2024, at 11am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1571 S. Martine Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ.
